In an effort to continue supporting development programs in Kazo district, Hon Jennifer Muheesi, the woman member of parliament Kazo district has lobbied UGX 94million to facilitate the development of parish associations.
The funds which were lobbied from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) of Uganda under the program of Parish community development Model will facilitate Rwakahaya and Rwemengo parishes in Kanoni Sub-county and Kagaramira Parish in Nkungu Sub-county all in Kazo district whereby each parish is entitled to at least UGX 30million.
Obed Timbaganya, the Personal Assistant to the legislator said that the money is already on the district account.
“There is a need for those groups in each parish to sit and organize themselves and see how to secure that money,” said Timbaganya.
Oscar Ayebazibwe, an official from OPM, told Kazo FM that Hon. Muheesi requested for money to enhance the development in all the parishes of Kazo District but unfortunately, the budget was not friendly, and they decided to give these three parishes.
Lay Can. Edward Kibwenga and Hillary Mwebesa, the LC II chairpersons for Rwemengo and Rwakahaya parish respectively expressed their gratitude towards the legislator for the lobby.
