Emyooga SACCO Leadership praises President Museveni
Members of the Mbarara City North Taxi Operators Emyooga Sacco have been encouraged to increase their shares and savings if they wish to become full owners of their SACCO. The call was made by Daniel Musherure, the Zonal General Manager of the Microfinance Support Center for Mbarara zone during the annual general meeting held yesterday at the park.
Musherure highlighted that the Microfinance Support Center has so far disbursed UGX 70 million to the SACCO to support its activities. He urged members to actively contribute more to their shares and savings to strengthen the SACCO’s capacity and ownership.
Nuwagaba Robert, the Chairperson of the Mbarara City North Taxi Operators Emyooga Sacco expressed appreciation to the government led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for the Emyooga initiative. He credited the program with transforming the lives of many community members and promoting development within the region.
Allan Buhanda, the City Commercial Officer, advised taxi drivers to utilize available parking spaces before enforcement measures are implemented.
Ayesiga Godfrey Mutoro, Publicity Secretary of the Mbarara City North Taxi Operators Emyooga Sacco, stated that the SACCO has had a positive impact on their lives, helping many members improve their livelihoods.
Speaking as the chief guest, Adrium Katwire Omunda, the Assistant Resident City Commissioner of Mbarara City North Division praised the government’s efforts saying that President Museveni has done everything necessary to lift Ugandans out of poverty.
Currently, the SACCO has accumulated a total of UGX 11,100,000 indicating steady progress toward financial self-sufficiency and community development.
