Man arrested for allegedly murdering sister
Police in Rukiga District have detained Geoffrey Wilson Kareba in connection with the alleged murder of his 70-year-old sister, Alice Joventa Mutwigi.
It is reported that on March 31, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Kareba went to his sister’s home in Kariba Village, Karorwa Parish, Bukinda Sub-county. The chief then contacted police, who promptly detained him.
According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson revealed that the scene of the crime was visited and documented by investigators. Kareba is currently detained at the Criminal Precinct Station (CPS) in Rukiga, while the victim’s body was transported to Kabale Regional Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
