Heavy rains, strong winds destroy local church under construction
Residents and faithful members of Kabatanagi, Mbaba parish,Kazo Subcounty in Kazo district have been left stranded following a heavy down pour that caused extensive damage to the area. The rains and strong winds ravaged the area leaving the local Catholic church in ruins and destroying surrounding gardens.
The church, which has been under construction with funds diligently collected by the faithful has now been reduced to debris, leaving many residents devastated. Community members had been working tirelessly to complete the house of worship and the loss has dealt a significant emotional and spiritual blow to the congregation.
Kenneth Agaba the LCI confirmed the incident and called on government authorities and other leaders to intervene and provide aid. He emphasized the urgency of assistance to help rebuild the church and restore normalcy to the area.
Residents are pleading for support, highlighting the importance of the church as a spiritual and communal center especially during challenging times. The community awaits immediate action to address the destruction caused by the natural disaster.
