Kazo District Council Approves UGX 1.39 Billion in Supplementary Budget
Kazo District Council has approved a supplementary budget worth UGX 1,397,289,520 for the financial year 2025-2026. The funds are meant to support various key district projects aimed at enhancing development across the district.
Among the allocations, 1,119,288,940 UGX will go towards completing the Burunga Seed School under the Uganda Growth and Investment Fund in Uganda (UGIFIT). Additionally, UGX 63,000,000 was designated as a capitation grant for Kyantumo Subcounty while UGX 215,000,580 will support climate-smart initiatives aimed at environmental sustainability.
The district Speaker,Hon. Dan Nahurira urged residents to continue supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party emphasizing that ongoing development efforts rely on their continued backing of the sitting government.
In his address, Chairman LCV, Samuel Mugisha Katugunda tackled concerns about corruption, particularly in recruitment processes. He called for strict measures to combat such issues and urged the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to prioritize pending projects. The chairman also highlighted improvements in some health centers and thanked residents for their support during President Museveni’s recent campaign visit.
Hon. Ham Rubeinika, the LCV councilor for Kyampagara Sub-county expressed gratitude for the government funds and extended season’s greetings to residents, wishing them a joyful festive season as the district continues to pursue development and growth.
