52 year old man slain by unknown assailants
Residents of Rwakahaya 1 in Rwakahaya Parish, Kanoni Subcounty Kazo district are in a state of shock following the brutal murder of Alex Mucunguzi, 52, whose body was discovered by his school going daughter this morning in a neighbour’s farm.
Sources reveal that Mucunguzi was murdered and his body was subsequently carried and laid on the farm. The discovery was made by his own daughter who was on her way to school. Upon finding her father’s body, she quickly ran back to inform her mother.
Silage Gumisiriza, the LC1 Chairperson, expressed concern, “Mucunguzi was an innocent man, loved by the community. We are shocked and saddened by his tragic death.”
Kenneth Mugarura a resident described Mucunguzi as a friendly and peaceful individual. He called on the government to establish a police station in Kanoni to help maintain peace and security in the area.
The community awaits further investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mucunguzi’s death hoping for justice to be served.
