
Kisoro police launch investigations into suspected murder
Police in Kisoro district are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Hategeka Bosco, 40, a resident of Gasarara Village, Soko Parish, Muramba Sub County. The victim’s body was discovered lying along the road at Kanyenka Trading Center, near his home.
According to ASP Elly Maate, the spokesperson for Kigezi Regional Police, the incident is believed to have occurred on the night of August 16, 2025. He explained that the deceased had left his home around 7:00 pm to attend a vigil for a relative in Rusenyi Village within Muramba Sub County while his wife was also preparing to attend another vigil nearby for a different relative.
The following morning at approximately 7:00 am, as the wife was returning home from the vigil, she received a distressing phone call from relatives informing her that her husband had been found lying along the road. She immediately proceeded to the scene and confirmed the tragic incident.
Maate noted that a case of suspected murder has been registered at Kisoro Central Police Station by George Haguma. The scene was visited, processed and documented by police officers. Despite efforts by the canine unit to track possible suspects, no leads have been established so far.
The body was examined at the crime scene and subsequently handed over to the family for a proper burial. Authorities reported that Hategeka Bosco was found with a deep cut on his chin, injuries on his chest and a large stone placed on his head.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the motive behind the attack and to identify and arrest any suspects involved. Police urge the public to cooperate with authorities as they work to bring justice in this case.
