
Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital receives anesthesia equipment
Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital has received a significant boost in its surgical capacity with the donation of advanced anesthesia equipment aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services offered to patients.
The donation which includes state-of-the-art anesthesia machinery and a fully equipped operating table was presented by the Hal Tibury Family from San Diego, USA. Acting Director of the hospital, Dr. Deus Twesigye, highlighted the importance of the new equipment emphasizing that it will enable surgeons to deliver higher-quality medical care.
“This high-tech anesthesia equipment will greatly assist our surgical team in providing safer and more effective services,” Dr. Twesigye stated during the handover ceremony. “With this second donation, the hospital now boasts eight fully equipped operating theaters that operate around the clock ensuring timely treatment for our patients.”
Prof. Musa Kayondo, the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department expressed optimism about the impact of the new equipment. He noted that it would significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to manage the rising demand for surgical procedures especially for women and patients with complex medical conditions referred from other facilities.
The hospital management and medical staff welcome the donation as a vital step toward strengthening healthcare delivery in the region reaffirming their commitment to providing quality services to the community.
