
Minors Brutally murdered in Kiruhura district
Residents of Rwenkombero Cell-Igongo in Rwenshande Subcounty, Kiruhura District are in shock following the brutal murder of two children.
According to reports, 12-year-old Asingwire Ruth and Aruho Joshua 10 went missing on July 30th, 2025, after their parents sent them on an errand to collect money for a group and to fetch beans from home while they were working nearby. Their lifeless bodies were later discovered on August 1.
Ahimbisibwe Godfrey and Kabazarwe Deena, the parents of the deceased recounted how they sent their children on the task only to find them dead upon their return. They are now urging security authorities to investigate the incident and seek justice for their children.
Some residents mentioned that they last saw the children around 4:00 PM on the day they went missing, raising concerns about rising insecurity in the area.
Tumusime David, the Local Council I (LCI) chairman for Rwenkombero cell expressed deep concern over the recent events. He acknowledged that insecurity has been an ongoing issue but said the recent murder was particularly shocking. He called on the police to intervene and provide reassurance to the community, stating that residents are now fearful for their lives.
Kihira Stephen, LCIII chairman of Rwenshande Subcounty, condemned the killing as merciless and urged the government intensify security measures including deploying more police personnel and motorcycles for patrols. He emphasized that the area’s insecurity requires urgent attention to protect residents.
The two children were laid to rest on August 2.
