Kamanyiso steps-up bid to replace Rumaari
Emmanuel Kamanyiso Tindimurekura has officially declared his intention to run for the position of LCIII Chairperson for Burunga Sub County in Kazo district in the ongoing National Resistance Movement( NRM) primaries. He picked his nomination forms at the NRM party offices in Kazo Town Council this afternoon signaling his strong interest in serving his community.
Speaking to our reporter after obtaining his nomination papers, Kamanyiso expressed confidence in his leadership abilities and his commitment to developing Burunga Sub County. He highlighted his political experience as a former parish councilor representing Kiguma Parish in Burunga Sub County where he served as a member on subcounty executive committee, a role he believes has prepared him for greater responsibilities.
Kamanyiso outlined his vision for Burunga promising to transform the sub county into a model area within Kazo District. His development agenda includes improving infrastructure such as roads and water sources especially through the construction of dams. He also emphasized the importance of unity among council members vowing to foster harmony and discourage disagreements in the Sub County Council.
“If people of Burunga trust me, I will ensure that my leadership role as Chairperson makes our sub county better than others in terms of development. I will also work hard to make the subcounty council a family, discouraging misunderstandings among councilors,” Kamanyiso stated.
He is currently contesting with Kato Barnet for the same seat. Despite the competitive nature of the race, Kamanyiso called for peaceful campaigns urging aspirants and voters to maintain unity. “NRM is not a war room for politicians. Today I am a candidate, tomorrow I will be your neighbor. Whether for burial or any gathering. Let us remember that we are all from Kazo and belong to NRM,” he emphasized.
The two seek to replace Samuel Tumuhairwe Rumaari who had contested as the LCV chairman for Kazo district but lost to the incumbent, Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda.
All nomination forms are to be returned to the NRM secretariat at the district offices by August 5 as the party prepares for the upcoming primaries across the country.
