Prof. Kamuntu pledges improved service delivery
Senior Presidential Advisor on Manifesto Implementation, Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu has pledged to lobby the government for the tarmacking of the Kabwohe–Kitagata–Kabira–Rukungiri road if elected as Member of Parliament for Sheema South. The commitment was made during the conclusion of his six-day manifesto launch across the six subcounties in the constituency.
Addressing a gathering of supporters on Monday, June 30, 2025 in Shuuku Town Council, Kamuntu highlighted the importance of the road which is included in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) manifesto but has suffered from neglect due to what he described as a lack of effective follow-up by current leadership.
In addition to the road project, Kamuntu pledged to advocate for the construction of a tea factory and the tarmacking of the Nyeihanga–Kishabya road initiatives he believes will enhance transportation of goods and boost tea marketing in the region.
The former legislator who served as the Member of Parliament for Sheema South from 2016 to 2021 also expressed concern over stalled development projects including electricity and water initiatives he had initiated during his tenure. He assured supporters that improving health services, extending electricity access, providing safe water and developing road networks across Sheema South would be his priorities if elected.
Kamuntu’s campaign continues to focus on infrastructure development and service delivery with supporters optimistic about the prospects of these commitments translating into tangible improvements for the region.
