School management committees encouraged to support school programs
The Commissioner for Physical Education and Sports, Rev. Can. Dr. Dancuns Mugumya has asked School Management Committees (SMCs) during a one-day workshop held at St. Paul Kitagata Archdeaconry. He warned against any actions that could undermine school programs urging SMC members to actively participate in the educational and extracurricular development of students.
The workshop was attended by headteachers, Parent-Teacher Association members and management committee chairpersons from church-founded schools within the Archdeaconry and aimed at fostering a collaborative approach to educational improvement.
Mugumya underscored the pivotal role that participatory involvement from all SMC members play in ensuring quality education and skill development for students. “We must work together to support our schools and the future of our children,” he stated.
Adding to the conversation, Ssempa Muzafaru, the Sheema District Inspector of Schools highlighted the necessity for collaboration among SMCs to enhance academic performance across the district. “When we unite our efforts and resources, we can achieve remarkable results,” Muzafaru said.
Rev. Can. Arthur Atwine, Archdeacon of Kitagata Archdeaconry, reaffirmed the Archdeaconry’s dedication to elevating education standards in the area. He called on all stakeholders to commit themselves to this shared goal, emphasizing that the quality of education directly impacts the future of the community.
