84-year-old woman attacked by unknown assailants in Bushenyi
Police in Bushenyi is hunting for unknown assailants who attacked and injured an 84-year-old woman and chopped off the arm of her 13-year-old grandson.
Vincent Ahimbisibwe, the area LC1 chairperson Kyampembwe cell, Swazi parish, Kyamuhunga sub-county Bushenyi district confirmed the attack and identified the victims as Safina Kamagari and her grandson Benon Nuwarinda.
Ahimbisibwe said that the family was attacked by unknown assailants on Sunday night at around 11:30am who broke unto their house through the window. He noted that the residents rushed to the scene but found the victims cut severely and lying in a pool of blood where they rushed them to the nearby clinic.
Laban Butamanya, the area parish chairperson condemned the act and warned young energetic youths who don’t want to work but want clean money that they will be arrested.
By press time, the victims had been admitted at Ishaka Adventist Hospital receiving treatment.
