Kazo: 393m PDM funds disbursed to beneficiaries
Kazo district has officially launched the parish revolving fund (PRF) disbursement under the parish development model (PDM) program.
Lt. Col. Ronald Rubaale, the UPDF officer in charge of Operation Wealth Creation in Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development who graced the disbursement urged the beneficiaries not to undermine the UGX 1m saying that the government will continue giving each parish UGX 100m every year.
Speaking as the guest of honour, the Kazo district woman Member of Parliament, Hon Jennifer Muheesi told beneficiary families to use the money on the enterprises targeted in order to profit from their investments.

The district PDM focal person who is also the district production officer, Asiimwe Johnbaptist, revealed that 51 parishes make up Kazo district and a total of 490 households from 9 parishes were fully prepared to receive the UGX 393M PRF.
A total of 490 beneficiaries from the 9 parishes of; Akengyeya and Nyungu in Kyampagara sub-county, Akatongore, Kikoni, and Migina parishes all in Migina sub-county, Obwengara and Rwemirondo wards in Kazo town council, Mbogo in Kanoni sub-county and Magondo in Burunga sub-county were fully prepared and received up to UGX 393m PRF.
The Kazo district LC V chairperson, Rev Samuel Mugisha Katugunda said that they decided to halt the disbursement of funds for some time in order to iron out all the irregularities in the selection of beneficiaries to ensure that the targeted people are the ones to befit from PDM program.
The PDM program seeks to propel 39% of Uganda’s population still in the subsistence economy into the money economy.
