Kiruhura: NRM government hailed for women economic empowerment
The Minister for Gender, Labor and social development, Betty Amongi has revealed that the Ministry is making a progress in economic empowerment of women in the country.
While visiting the women projects who got money from the Uganda women Entrepreneurship program (UWEP) in Kiruhura district last week, Amongi revealed that more money is on the way to finance the successful projects.
Minister Amongi said women doing projects including, goat rearing, bull fattening and others will be able to borrow money to support branding, marketing, certification among others.
Enid Mwesigye, the chairperson for Kiruhura district Women’s council said thanks to the support of president Museveni and the NRM government, women have gotten a chance to develop economically.
Safari Mugyenyi, the Mayor Sanga town council urged men to give freedom to their wives for families to develop since women tend to save more.
