Kazo: Parents, teachers asked to cooperate for academic excellence.
Parents in Kazo district have been advised to invest in education as one way to liberate their families from poverty.
Nkoreki Chrissy Abel, the former MP Aspirant Kazo county made the remarks while speaking as a guest of honour during a thanksgiving and fundraising ceremony at Ntambazi primary school.
The fundraising which was aimed towards the completion of the school’s two classroom block was on Sunday held at Ntambazi church of Uganda in Kazo sub-county, Kazo district.
Rev Samuel Mugisha Katugunda, the Kazo district LC V chairperson challenged the school administrators noting that lack of classrooms does not mean failing to perform well in his understanding.
Katugunda further called upon the teachers and other concerned people in schools to fight for academic excellence.
In his remarks, Robert Agume, the Kazo district education officer (DEO) urged parents and teachers to join hands to improve learning in schools.
Speaking at the same function, Naboth Nandeeba, the operations manager of Kazo FM radio, asked pupils, teachers and parents to play their roles and make accountability for what they are supposed to do in order to excel.
Henry Kikuto, the chairman of the old boys and old girls association said the major challenge with this school is that they don’t have classrooms which means there is of lack of pupils’ shelter at the school.
Mwebaze Francis, the parish priest who led the service urged parents to be patient in every situation as they give the small they have in order to educate their children for future returns.
