Kazo: Residents decry the use of dirty water for domestic use
Residents in villages of Mbogo I, Mbogo Parish, Kanoni Sub-County and Karitutsi II, Bishozi Parish, Engari Sub-County, all in Kazo district are struggling with the problem of using dirty water for domestic activities.
According to the Local council one chairpersons of both villages, Mr. Fred Mugasha of Mbogo I cell and Mr. Godfrey Muhimbisa of Karitutsi II cell, the locals are using this kind of water for drinking, cooking, washing, bathing and for their animals.
The leaders together with locals said they are worried about contracting the diseases related to contaminated water.
Jennifer Muheesi, the District woman Member of Parliament revealed that she has already intervened, and there are plans to construct boreholes for both villages.
According to her P.A, Obed Timbaganya, the identifcation of places where these boreholes are to be drilled was completed on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2022.
Timbaganya added that there are similar plans to also extend the same kind of service to the citizens of Kagarama village in Kanoni, Kaaro village in Kyengando parish-Engari Sub-county and Kakoni Ward in Buremba Town council.
Muheesi noted that in a few months, the problem will get solved completely.
