Juventus dismiss head coach
Juventus has announced the dismissal of head coach Igor Tudor following the team’s recent defeat to Lazio. The Croatian manager who took over the reins at the Italian club in March as a replacement for Thiago Motta has been relieved of his duties amid a challenging period for the Bianconeri.
Tudor, 43, has overseen an eight-match winless streak across all competitions which has contributed to Juventus’s struggles this season. The club currently sits eighth in Serie A having suffered three consecutive defeats in their last three matches including the recent loss to Lazio on Sunday.
In a statement, Juventus expressed appreciation for Tudor and his staff, saying, “The club thanks Igor Tudor and his entire staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past few months and wishes them all the best for their future careers.”
Looking ahead, Juventus has appointed Massimiliano Brambilla as interim head coach. He will lead the team for their upcoming Serie A fixture against Udinese scheduled for Wednesday.
The Old Lady is currently six points behind league leaders Napoli and has not recorded a win in their last five league outings. Their struggles extend into the Champions League, where Juventus is placed 25th in the group stage table after losing once and drawing twice in their first three matches.
The club’s management will be hoping the change in coaching staff can help turn around their inconsistent form and improve their prospects both domestically and in Europe.
