Christians urged to follow the path of Christ
Rev. Fr. Mugisha Deo, the Parish Priest for ST.Paul’s Kazo Catholic Parish has asked Christians to remain steadfast in their commitment to righteousness despite the influence of unrighteous forces and the actions of political leaders. He delivered the message during his sermon during Palm Sunday prayers on Sunday morning
Fr. Mugisha emphasized the significance of adhering to good principles and following the right path, regardless of who is in authority. He cited biblical figures like Judas, Peter and Pilate who abandoned the truth of Jesus Christ for self-preservation, ultimately leading to betrayal. His message served as a call for the congregation to uphold their faith and integrity even in the face of adversity.
“Let us stand firm in our beliefs and not be swayed by those who do not uphold the truth,” Fr. Mugisha urged, inspiring attendees to prioritize their moral compass above external pressures.
Echoing Fr. Mugisha’s sentiments, Hon. Leah Munene, the deputy speaker for Kazo District expressed her concerns regarding the importance of truthfulness and righteousness within the community. She highlighted that maintaining these principles is crucial not only for individual integrity but also for fostering a just and accountable society.
“Commitment to honesty and ethical behavior is essential in all aspects of life. Together, we can build a better community,” Hon. Munene stated, reinforcing her call to action for citizens to uphold the values of truth and righteousness.
The messages delivered during the Palm Sunday Mass resonated with the congregation reminding them of their responsibilities as individuals and community members in the pursuit of a just and moral society.
