Private sector players want Nyakisharara airfield elevated
Private sector actors in Uganda have asked the government to elevate Nyakisharara Airstrip in Mbarara city to an international airport to boost tourism and business in the region.
Speaking during the official opening of Private sector foundation Uganda south western offices in Mbarara city this week, Steven Asiimwe the Chief Executive Officer Private Sector foundation-Uganda said this would be a game changer in the country’s tourism sector as it will ease transport means to destinations around western region.
He says that for the country to be competitive in the tourism sector within the East African region, services should be brought close.
