Kiruhura: Beneficiaries urged to care for projects done by UPDF
The Minister for Foreign affairs, Gen. Jeje Odongo has commissioned the staff quarters of ten rooms as well as a complete toilet building at Nshwere Primary school and staff quarters of two rooms at Rwobusisi Primary school in Kiruhura district.
Speaking to parents at Nshwere Primary School on Sunday, Odongo said the projects are part of the work done by the UPDF as part of Tarehe Sita anniversary week activities.
Representing the CDF, General Wilson Mbadi Mbasu in Kiruhura, Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Rwanshande said that after the successful bush war of NRA, they knew that their success came from civilians’ contribution to them, and that is why they pay them back by working for civilians.
UPDF work to civilians indicates that they appreciate the people who helped National Resistance Army (NRA), present day National Resistance Movement (NRM) to fight bad governments and save the country from the hands of dictatorship in 1986 when it was ushered into power.
Brig. Gen. Rwashande added that they did some different work for the districts of greater Mbarara region.
Hon. Kajwengye Wilson, the Member of Parliament Nyabushozi County urged the school management at Nshwere P/S to put more effort towards academic excellence of the pupils.
Hon. Jovanice Rwenduru Twinobusingye appreciated the UPDF for doing commendable work and asked the beneficiaries to take care of these projects.
The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) did several activities like renovation and construction of infrastructure in select schools & health centres, health camps, general cleaning of towns in Mbarara City and district, Ibanda, Kazo, Isingiro, Kiruhura, and Rwampara districts to mark the 42nd Tarehe sita anniversary week.
