Ibanda: Businessman found dead in his rented room
Police in Ibanda are investigating circumstances under which a businessman was found dead in his rental room in Ekyorora Nfuzi, Bufunda II Cell, Ibanda Municipality, in Ibanda district.
Stephen Kazooba, the LCI Chairperson Bufunda II Cell in Ibanda Municipality identified the deceased as Alex Turyaheebwa who was a businessman dealing in Matooke and fried fish.
It is said that the deceased had only operated the business for only three weeks before his lifeless body was found lying in his rental room.
Kazooba asked the landlords to always register tenants before allowing them to stay in their houses saying it is unfortunate that the deceased’s landlord did not to capture his details which is crucial for security purposes.
Lopez Atuhaire, a bodaboda cyclist who doubles as one of the deceased’s friends used to transport the deceased’s business merchandise and described the deceased as a good man.
Agnes Nyamwiza and Justus Tweyongyere some of the deceased’s neighbors who operate their businesses at Ekyorora Nfuzi said that they last saw the deceased on Friday evening.
The scene was visited by police led by Paul Muhenda, the OC CID Ibanda, and the deceased’s body was picked and taken to Ruhoko Health Centre IV for postmortem as investigations into the matter continue.
