Archbishop Bainomugisha asks Christians to serve communities
Catholics in Kiruhura district have been encouraged to extend a helping hand to the needy especially in areas such as school fees and other essential needs. The call was made by the Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese , the Most Rev. Lambert Bainomugisha during the eucharistic celebration at the Rushere SACCO main branch in Rushere town council.
The prelate together with staff Rushere SACCO staff collected monetary contributions to support the Archdiocese of Mbarara Development Foundation (AMDF).
In his sermon, Bainomugisha emphasized the importance of giving with love and faith highlighting that helping others provides comfort and hope. He urged Catholics to work together in caring for children who lack school fees, emphasizing that religious services should serve all people not just followers.
“Our faith calls us to serve and support one another. We must cooperate to ensure that no child is left behind due to lack of school fees,” Archbishop Bainomugisha stated.
Aikirizibwe Fred, Chairperson of AMDEF for Rushere catholic parish and Rev. Fr. Zeddy Byabashaija, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Rushere SACCO expressed gratitude for the generous contributions made by the SACCO staff. They noted that supporting AMDEF through contributions is a shared commitment and a reflection of the community’s willingness to help.
The staff of Rushere SACCO demonstrated their willingness to contribute to the development foundation, reflecting a spirit of solidarity and compassion within the community.
