24 join Mothers’ Union in Kazo

Women have been encouraged to be role models in their communities and a footstool for the institution of marriage. This was during the confirmation and welcoming of 24 women into Mother’s Union at St. Emmanuel AKengyeya Church of Uganda in Kyampangara subcounty, Kazo district on May 6 during a special ceremony commemorating Mothers’ Day.

The confirmation service was led by Rev. Orone Francis Odeke who revealed that it marked a significant milestone for the new members who would embark on their journey within the Mothers’ Union.

Rev. Orone encouraged the newly confirmed women to be role models in the community especially to those who are yet to join the union. He emphasized the importance of forgiveness within marriages stating that fostering a spirit of forgiveness is essential for building peaceful and loving families.

Rose Mwebaze, the leader of Mothers’ Union urged all women present to persevere in their family commitments and avoid separation highlighting that family unity is crucial for the well-being of children and aligns to God’s commandments.

The event also featured a sermon by Kayesu Janete Tweheyo, a teacher at Kaicumu High School implored women to respect their husbands as the leaders of their families asserting that mutual respect is key to achieving success and harmony within the household.

Among the newly confirmed members were Lillian Kakuyu and Beteth Abayo who expressed their commitment to uphold the values and responsibilities expected of them within the community. They pledged to actively contribute to the betterment of their families and society as a whole.

The ceremony underscored the importance of community and the role of women in nurturing strong family units as participants celebrated their new roles in the Mother’s Union with hope and determination.
