19-year-old wanted for defiling his 2-year-old niece.
Police in Mitooma District are hunting for a 19-year-old man on allegations of defiling a 2-year-old juvenile.
Martial Tumusiime, the greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident and identified the suspect as Vincent Akili, 19, a porter, and resident of Rwirara I village, Ijumo parish, Mitooma sub-county in Mitooma District where the on.
It is alleged that the incident happened at around 7:30pm on 05/01/2024. Beatrice Tukundane, 58, the victim’s mother revealed that she left her daughter at around 7:00am with her father Samuel Ainebyona and she went to the garden.
Tukundane, added that her father also took the victim to the grandmother where the suspect who is a paternal uncle to the victim found her and took her to his bedroom and defiled her.
Tumusiime said examination of the victim was done and she is currently admitted at Mitooma health center IV.
He said that efforts to arrest the suspect who is on run for interrogation are still ongoing and investigations into the matter continue.
