Police probe the murder of LC II Chairman in Isingiro
Police in Isingiro have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of the Chairman LCII, Nyamitsindo Parish, Masha Sub-county in Isingiro District, Byenyinemwe Ben, 64.
The suspects are; Kiconco Sylivia, 56, wife to the deceased, Katushabe Aloysious, 40, Yebuuze Ronald,33, (both sons to the deceased) and Tukwatanise Moses,30, a neighbour to the deceased’s son.
On Sunday, 22/10/2023, Police of Masha received information from Kato, the defence secretary of Nyamitsindo Parish regarding the murder of the Chairman LCII.
Police dispatched team of officers who rushed to the scene and found the deceased’s body lying on his bed in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the neck.
According to the wife who was present at the time, the assailants attacked the deceased while she was in the store and only met three individuals coming out of the house that also assaulted her as they fled the scene.
When the Police Canine dog was introduced to the scene of crime, it led the officers for about 10kms from the scene to the house of deceased’s son Yebuuze Ronald and later proceeded to the house of Tukwatanise Moses, his neighbours, all in Nyakagyera cell, Kabingo Sub-County.
According to preliminary investigations the couple had developed domestic misunderstandings after the deceased married a second wife which created drifts in the family.
The body of the deceased was taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination and investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
