Bishop urges leaders to be accountable
The Bishop of West Ankole diocese, Rt. Rev Johnson Twinomujuni has urged leaders to always ensure that they are transparent and add value while in governance.
While presiding over the fundraising to raise money to buy computers and extend electricity to Mungonya secondary school in Kararo, Kyeizooba Sub-county, Bishop Twinomujuni noted that most projects collapse due to poor supervision where leaders fail to show value for the money and accountability.
Bishop Twinomujuni urged students to concentrate on their academics if they are to be successful in future.
Ephraim Biraro, the Buhweju West Member of Parliament who represented the deputy speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa urged people to be supportive to their local private schools.
Biraro called upon the government to always support these private schools since they are supporting the government work by giving education services.
Michael Mawanda, the Igara East Member of Parliament asked parents to love their school and support it to fight against illiteracy in the community.
Edson Byaruhanga, the school head teacher said that the aim of this fundraising was to raise over UGX 109 million to equip their computer laboratory, rehabilitate the school and extend electricity to the school as it currently operates on solar.
