Kazo: Residents asked to cooperate to fight cattle theft
The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Kazo, Al-Hajji Mawiya Lule has tasked farmers in Burunga sub-county, Kazo district to corporate in order to defeat cattle theft in Kazo district.
Mawiya made the remarks while attending the security meeting organized by security authorities of Burunga held at Burunga sub-county headquarters on Friday to address the rampant cattle theft in this sub-county.
RDC Mawiya revealed that fighting against cattle theft is everyone’s responsibility noting that everyone in the neighborhood has some responsibility to ensure everyone’s safety where he also urged farmers to care about their animals by providing security.
Rev Samuel Mugisha Katungunda, the district LC V chairperson told the meeting that the district has started a new chapter of fighting cattle theft and warned the chairperson LC I against misusing stamps emphasizing that they are going to lose them.
Samuel Rumari, the chairperson of LC III Burunga sub-county who called the meeting revealed that the only challenge that is causing cattle stealing is untouchable people.
Several other farmers in this area led by Aaron Kishokye, the district councilor representing Burunga sub-county promised that they will dedicate themselves to working hand in hand to fight cattle theft.
