Domestic Violence: 28 year old man found dead
Police in Rubirizi district are investigating the circumstances under which a 28 year old man committed suicide.
Martial Tumusiime, the greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Fred Ayebazibwe a resident of Kisita A cell ,Mugyera parish, Katanda sub-county, Rubirizi District.
The case of Ayebazibwe’s disappearance was reported at Katerera police station by the chairperson LCI of Kisita A village on Sunday after he went missing on 11/02/2023 at around 9:00PM.
After reporting, the Chairperson went back home and mobilized the area residents who began the search for Ayebazibwe.
He was later found hanging on a tree using a mosquito net rope about 200m from his home.
Tumusiime added that the deceased had misunderstandings with his wife Kyosimire Jackline and they always had family quarrels arising from the man drinking too much alcohol, stealing household items like utensils and matooke harvested from the woman’s banana plantation and selling them in exchange for alcohol.
The wife had deserted the man several times and could be brought back on agreements that he is to stop taking alcohol.
This time she had spent about two months away and when they tried having her back into the family she completely refused.
