Mbarara: MPs ask government to disperse PDM funds
Government has been called up to speed up the process of dispersing the funds under parish development model (PDM) so as to enable the population to engage in production.
Hon Bazil Batarigaya Rwankwene, the Member of Parliament Kashari north-Mbarara district made the call while speaking during the stakeholders meeting held at Rubindi -Ruhumba town council headquarters.
Hon Batariganya revealed that, once the money is dispersed in time it will enable the farmers to utilize the funds in time, saying, this will increase production.
In her remarks, the Mbarara district woman Member of Parliament Hon Margaret Ayebare Rwebyambu asked the women to get involved in PDM as one way of eradicating poverty at household level.
Irene Muwanguzi Wasike, the enterprise development specialist at the PDM secretariat who represented the minister of local government Rapheal Magezi asked the leaders to take this program as an opportunity of transforming the societies.
The RDC Mbarara Rodgers Mbabazi assured the public that they will ensure proper supervision and monitoring of PDM funds once the money is dispersed to the targeted population.
