Kazo: Christians urged to keep united
Rt Rev Bishop Steven Namanya, the Bishop of north Ankole diocese has asked Christians in Kyengando parish, Engari Sub-county, Kazo district to keep united as they receive the incoming bishop and work closely with him.
Bishop Namanya made the remarks at Kyengando Church of Uganda during his farewell service on Sunday.
Bishop Namanya is expected to retire 2024 as per the constitutional requirements regarding bishops of the Church of Uganda whereby Bishops are supposed to only serve until their 65th birthday. At the age of 65 bishops must retire.
Rev Faith Kamya, the parish priest Kyengando Church of Uganda appreciated Bishop Namanya for his work and urged all people to follow his example by working together.
Rev Canon Venerable Kurumwine John, the archdeacon of Sya Church of Uganda also appreciated the work of Bishop Namanya noting that the people of Kyengando have benefited a lot from the bishop who has supported all developments in their area.
It will be remembered that Bishop Steven Namanya was the second bishop of the North Ankole diocese in Rushere replacing Bishop Emeritus John Muhanguzi in 2015.
