Kazo: Two arrested for cattle theft.
Police in Kazo working together with the residents of Buremba Sub county have arrested two suspects on allegations of stealing 24 cows from Kakoni in Buremba Sub-county Kazo district.
The arrest was made during the operation which was conducted on Saturday 8th October 2022 following an incident where 24 heads of cattle had been stolen.
The stolen cattle belonged to Nobert Turyahikayo Nobert, a resident of Kakoni ward, Buremba Sub-county.
Turyahikayo said that on Saturday, when one of his casual labourers checked the kraal, he found 24 cows and 15 goats missing and he engaged police to start tracking where they managed to recover only 11 cows.
Police confiscated a Fuso lorry REG No. UAR 234M whose driver led the police to the recovery of 11 cows (out of the 24 missing) from Hapuyo Kyegegwa district.
Lukooto John, the Kazo district police commander (DPC), identified the suspects in police detention as Kutesa Ronald, the driver of the Fuso truck and Bagoza Patrick from whose farm the cows were recovered.
Lukooto also urged the people of Kazo to always be vigilant and assist the police to report any sign of cattle theft.
Turyahikayo noted that now police are working on interrogating the suspects for further details and investigations into the matter continue.
