Nkoreki, a notable figure in these village elections and reportedly aiming to challenge the current district NRM chairman Wilson Nkaija for the same position declined to comment to journalists after the results were announced.
In a letter seen this evening,Nkoreki has appealed against the results citing a number of concerns including but not limited to under age voters in the register which he allegedly revealed that it was falsified, neglect of his concerns by the NRM district registrar, heavy deployment of police in the village and participation of non registered people into the election.

Several residents explained their decision not to elect Hon. Nkoreki. They cited his alleged abusive behavior towards Agaba reportedly calling him poor. They allegedly asked Nkoreki to seek election for another position which he outrightly rejected. Residents stated that they chose Agaba because he is consistently present in the community and addresses their concerns.
