Motorcyclist on the run knocks one dead.
Police in Sheema are investigating circumstances under which a 37-year-old man was knocked dead by a yet to be identified cyclist on a motorcycle.
Martial Tumusiime, the greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as John Muhairwe, a resident of Masyoro village-Kyangenyi-Sheema District.
He said the accident happened on Thursday night on a feeder road at around 9:00PM and motorcycle REG No. UFB 090E Bajaj boxer was abandoned at the scene and was taken to Kakindo Police station.
Tumusiime added that Police in Sheema District are hunting for the suspects in question on allegations of animal theft in Kagongi Cell Nyarweshama ward, Sheema central Division.
It’s alleged that the locals who were patrolling intercepted a motorcycle carrying four slaughtered goats being carried in polythene bags. The suspects managed to escape leaving behind the motorcycle REG No. UEN 271M Bajaji boxer and the exhibit of four dead goats.
