Police investigate case of missing 29-year-old university student

Police in Mbarara are investigating circumstances under which a secondary school teacher at St. Joseph’s vocational, also a fourth year Medical student at Mbarara University of science and Technology (MUST) disappeared a month ago.

Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Region Police Spokesperson identified the missing person as 29-year-old Paddy Segawa.

Kasasira noted that the victim was last seen on September 20th 2023 at Vybs Lounge in Mbarara city where he had gone for fun with a friend.

He added that Segawa’s friends and relatives tried to trace him by calling him via his known phone numbers but no one was answering them.

Ritah Nantogo, a sister to the victim said they have tried to look for him from his relatives and friends but their efforts have not got any tangible results and they fear for his life and suspect he could have been kidnapped.

Kasasira noted that after efforts to trace him were in vain, on September, 30th, the relatives reported the matter to Mbarara central police station which also embarked on efforts to trace Segawa’s whereabouts.
