Ibanda: One remanded to Nyabuhikye prison over theft of UGX 50,000
Ibanda Grade One magistrate’s court has remanded a one Robert Asiimwe to prison on charges of housebreaking and theft.
It is alleged that on November 13, 2022, Asiimwe, a resident of Mishozi, Bisheshe Division in Ibanda Municipality broke into the house of Vincent Tumuhairwe with the intention of stealing, hence the housebreaking charges.
Court, presided over by Her Worship Esther Murungi, also heard that the suspect stole UGX 50,000 from Tumuhairwe’s house contrary to section 254 (i) and 261 of the Penal Code Act.
The suspect denied the charges.
Asiimwe was later remanded to Nyabuhikye Prison until July 25, when he will come back to court for hearing of the cases against him.
