Security guard beaten to death in Bushenyi
Police in Bushenyi are investigating the circumstances under which a security guard was beaten to death while on duty on Monday night.
Martial Tumusiime, the greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Robert Solomo, 24, a security guard attached to Swatt who was deployed at Kawa Com opposite Gaz Petrol station.
Tumusiime said the incident of Murder took place on Monday night at Gaz Petrol station along Ishaka-Kasese highway at Cell C, Ishaka Division, Bushenyi -Ishaka Municipality in Bushenyi District.
It is alleged that on 22/11/2022 at around 02:18am, the deceased who was armed with a gun, attacked Pontius Kwikiriza, 35, a night watchman at Gaz Petrol Station. The duo fought as the deceased wanted to shoot Kwikiriza.
The neighboring security guards responded to rescue Kwikiriza and the deceased was thoroughly beaten until he became unconscious and died at the scene.
The body of the deceased was found lying at the scene with the gun placed on his body.
A gun SAR without any ammunition was recovered and the body of the deceased was taken to KIU hospital for postmortem examination.
Tumusiime said that four suspects have been arrested to help police with investigations.
