Kitagwenda: Farmers urged to embrace modern agriculture
The Kitagwenda District Agricultural Officer, Justus Namanya has emphasized the need for collective farming in a bid to improve people’s livelihoods in the district.
Speaking during a media tour in Kitagwenda by Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) on Monday, Namanya said working in groups helps farmers in loan acquisition, bulking and marketing of the produce among other benefits.
Namanya also applauded the SAA organization for mobilizing farmers’ groups to embrace modern agriculture.
Emmanuel Ntamushobora, the Chairperson Kyendangara Area Cooperative Enterprise in Mahyoro town council noted that with support from Sasakawa, they have been able to provide a market for farmer’s produce.
