Mbarara: 10 arrested over theft
Police in Mbarara city are holding 10 people suspected to be behind the notorious panga-welding theft.
Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region police spokesperson identified the suspects as Parius Mukundane, Dominic Kakuru, Nulu Muwonye, Abdu Ukasho, Kenedy Nsimire, Raps Atwijukire, Charles Nuwamanya, Farouk Lubega, and Derrick Nuwagaba among others.
Kasasira said that as police, following the arrest of the suspects, they have managed to recover some of the things that have been stolen from different areas.
Kasasira said that some of the things they have discovered include laptops, hoofers, clothes, phones, bags, flat screens, and two motorcycles among others.
Kasasira noted that police are working tirelessly to ensure that crimes are curbed in Mbarara and other parts of the country.
Kasasira said that the suspects will be charged with being in possession of suspected stolen property.
