2 year old child murdered by step father
Police in Rubirizi district are hunting for a one Mwijukye Vicent for allegedly murdering a child aged 2 years and 4months.
Martial Tumusiime, the greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident and said the case was reported by the mother identified as Tushemeriwe Scovia, 30, while the deceased was identified as Nansuna faith, all residents of Rwemitangu village, Rwemitangu parish Rutoto Sub-county, Rubirizi district.
It’s alleged that the suspect, Mwijukye cohabited with the mother of the deceased when she had already produced the girl with another man and the suspect had been saying that he didn’t want the deceased child.
Tumusiime said that on Monday at about 19;45pm, the suspect came back home, picked the girl(deceased), deceived her with sweet potato, he moved with her for almost 1.5 kilometers to the bush with an axe, hit the kid on the head, dumped her body in the bush and disappeared.
The body was removed and taken to Rugazi health center IV for postmortem examination as investigations into the matter continue.
