Bethel Senior Secondary School in Amuru District has been temporarily closed after teachers received threats of a planned demonstration by students in the school on allegations that they are being fed poorly.
This follows an arson incident where two grass thatched huts belonging to Lamwony Francis, the School’s Head teacher, and another teacher were burnt down and destroyed.
Ongom David Mudong; the Aswa Region police Spokesperson said that preliminary findings by the detectives indicate that the school fence was cut to gain entrance to the grass thatched houses.
Ongom added that they have since arrested five students for allegedly burning down the two huts and identified the suspects as Okello Martin, Ocira Patrick, Mwaka Emmanuel, Oringa Charles and Amone Francis to help with the investigations.
