In an effort to strengthen business ties and the working relationship between Uganda and South Sudan, the speaker of the National Assembly of South Sudan, Rt. Hon. Jemma Nunu Kemba, has today paid a visit to her Ugandan Counterpart, Rt. Hon. Anita Among.
Hon. Among revealed that Hon. Kemba visited Uganda for a benchmarking trip where the two discussed about strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
“South Sudan is a strategic business Partner of Uganda and it is in our interest that we keep the relationship cordial,” said Among through her Twitter handle.
Among added that it is refreshing to hear that the people of South Sudan appreciate Uganda for the role it played in their Liberation struggle and for hosting the troubled country’s asylum seekers in Uganda during the war.
“I reiterated to her our Commitment to promoting closer working ties between the female Speakers and all Speakers of the East African Community so that we can achieve our aspirations together. We are without doubt one people,” said Among.
Rt Hon. Jemma is one of the guests who will be in Uganda for State of the Nation Address slated June 7th 2022.
